Training camp opens, Johnson still unsigned
Well, another season of Lions football has opened for business, with everybody in the organization drinking the corporate kool-aid. Many Lions have come out publically to tell people that they are going to win 'at least 10 games' this year (quote courtesy of Jon Kitna). Now, I'm not sure whether that's true or not, but our offense looks a lot better this year, with upgrades at offensive line and obviously the unsigned, but extremely talented, Calvin Johnson (memo to Lions: Sign this guy!!! back up the brinks truck to his house, I don't care. He is pretty important to this season). Defense is still a question mark, especially at corner with the untested Stanley Wilson, and the oft-injured Fernando Bryant are penciled in as the starters. The linebackers should be solid, though, and the front four should be a force if Shawn Rogers decides he wants to play every down, for every game. Hopefully this is the beginning of a long streak of not-crappiness for the Lions.
The Tigers are in the process of taking a big dump on the field, and cannot buy a win at the moment. Part of it is due to the bullpen not doing its job, but the current 4 game losing streak is the whole team's fault. And with the trade deadline approaching, I'm not sure if anything can be done to fix this. Hopefully the Tigers figure it out soon, and get this ship heading in the right direction, I would hate for the Yankees for slip into the playoffs b/c we faded down the stretch.
Well, that's all for now, I may throw another post in towards the end of the week, before I take off to NEW YORK CITY!!!!!! Thanks for reading.
