Detroit Sports and stuff

My ranting of sports, life, and whatever I feel like...but mostly sports. Now in the un-daily variety.

I knew 3-0 was too good to be true...

Well, as usual, I got caught drinking the honolulu blue and silver kool-aid, or put the glasses on... because I thought this year might be different... but after the butt-kicking we got in philly, it just seems like this team will never change. Damn. Hopefully they can prove me wrong against the bears this week, but it just seems like we've been here before...

It seems as if either michigan is back to their old ways (of winning), or penn st. was waaaaaaaaaay overrated, as the maize and blue took care of business at home, 14-9. Freshman QB Ryan Mallett is now 2-0 as a michigan starter, but I would expect Chad Henne back under center this weekend against Northwestern. Hopefully the defense continues playing well, and the offense gets it done, too! go Blue!!

Arsenal keep winning, beating Derby 5-0 on saturday, and then taking out newcastle united in the carling cup, 2-0, using their backups instead of their starters. I know it's still early, and football is a marathon, and not a sprint, but this season could be special.

I would post a you tube of the month tomorrow, but i'll be in CEDAR POINT!!!!!!!!! so it will have to be next week.

Go michigan, go Lions, go Arsenal

later!

Lions possibly 3-0?

Big game coming up for the Lions on Sunday, when they take their perfect record into Philadelphia to play the Eagles. I watched the last Eagles game on MNF, and they looked terrible. Really, really terrible. I would not be surprised if the Lions were to lose this game, but I think this is a win-able game. I hope I'm right.

Arsenal took care of business this week with convincing wins over the Scum (T*ttenh*m) and in the Champions League against Seville (3-1 against the scum, 3-0 against Seville). With this weekends clash against bottom dwellers Derby County, it looks like a good way to cap a great week.

And Finally, the Maize and Blue get into the win column, with a 38-0 thumping of Notre Dame. Ha Ha, ND, Ha freaking Ha. Hopefully we can keep this win 'streak' going against Penn St. on saturday.

More importantly, though, I get to go to Cedar Point next weekend!!!!! YAY CP!!!!!

Ok, I'm done. Later.

Has this become the Bizarro sports world?

First, Michigan starts off 0-2, next the Lions win by showing heart at the end of the game, forcing 2 turnovers, and stamping it with a late touchdown. What the hell is going on???

Lions 36, Raiders 21

Those classy fans from Columbus

I hope they don't end up reqretting the 15+ bucks they just spent... Buckeye fans buying App St. gear... oh, wait, yes I do.

Tondar has some great commentary about the game, our rivals joy in it, and the coaching carousel that may or may not occur.

Yeah, it was a bad loss. But 1 loss doesn't make a season. And if we win the next 11 games, maybe this game will fade from memory probably not, as Columbus, E.Lansing, and South Bend will make sure to remind us every chance they get. Oh well, life goes on. (Unfortunately, I was there to witness that crapfest, too. Blah)

Arsenal moved up to 2nd in the Premiership with a convincing 3-1 win against Portsmouth on Sunday. We are looking pretty good so far in the year 1 AT (after Thierry). Hopefully we can continue our good run against T*tt*nham Hotsp*rs next saturday, at Broken Heart Lane, umm, I mean White Hart Lane.

On a personal note, I have started my last semester of college, and should graduate in December. Yay me!! About fricken time, too!

And since I haven't done a movie review in a bit, here ya go...

If anyone has not seen the movie 'Superbad', the first half of the movie is... interesting... to say the least. But the 2nd half was really funny, salvaged the movie.

'War' is pretty good, but I didn't like the very, very end of it. But the movie itself was excellent, a good action flick.

'Bourne Ultimatum' - Awesome. Go see it. Now. Why are you still here??

'Stardust' - A bit different than what I had imagined, but it was still a very good movie.

'Die hard 4.0' - Awesome. You don't have to see it right away, but soon. It is very good. Justin Long's character was funny, but I felt that he was too whiny. Also, I didn't recognize Kevin Smith right away, but he was great.

'Transformers' - Freakin Awesome. Loved the cartoon, the movie was better. The only complaint that I had was that the tank guy (Destroyer, I think), was supposed to be the byproduct of 5 decepticons forming one big robot (Constructicons). But, there's room for a sequal, so I imagine they can work it into the story if they really want to.

Ok, that's about 2 weeks worth of blogging. Please post comments, let me know you're out there!!!
